In this policy, "we", "us" and "our" mean Algarve Cleaning Crew. We are the controller of the personal data described below.
When you ask for a quote: your name, phone number, email address, property address or area, town, property type, the services you are interested in, and anything else you choose to tell us.
When you contact us by WhatsApp, phone or email: your contact details and the content of your messages, including any photos you send of your property.
When you become a customer: the details we need to arrange and carry out the work and to invoice you, such as the property address, access notes, the work done and payment records.
When you visit the website: technical and usage information collected through cookies and similar technologies, described below.
To reply to your enquiry, arrange a survey and give you a quote.
To carry out the work you book, keep you updated and invoice you.
To keep the business records we are required to keep by law, including tax records.
To understand how the website is used and to measure and improve our advertising.
We do not sell your personal data.
We use your details to take steps at your request before entering into a contract, and to perform that contract once you book (for quotes and jobs); to comply with legal obligations (for tax and accounting records); and for our legitimate interests in running and improving the business (for example, keeping a record of past jobs). Where the law requires your consent, for example for certain cookies, we rely on that consent and you can withdraw it at any time.
The website uses Google Analytics to understand how visitors use the site, and the Meta Pixel to measure the results of our adverts on Facebook and Instagram. These tools set cookies and collect information such as the pages you visit, the device and browser you use and your approximate location.
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, and you can opt out of Google Analytics using Google's browser add-on. Blocking cookies will not stop the website from working.
We share personal data only with the service providers we use to run the business, and only as far as they need it: the company that hosts our website; Zapier, which delivers quote form submissions to us; Google (analytics and email); Meta (the Meta Pixel and WhatsApp); and our accountant and bank. We may also share information where the law requires it.
Some of these providers are based outside Portugal and the European Economic Area, including in the United Kingdom and the United States. Where data is transferred, it is protected by the safeguards required by data protection law, such as adequacy decisions or standard contractual clauses.
If you make an enquiry but do not book, we keep your details for up to 24 months in case you come back to us, then delete them. If you become a customer, we keep job and invoice records for as long as tax and accounting law requires. Analytics data is kept in line with the retention settings of the tools above.
We photograph and film our work for quality control, and we may use photos of the property and the work in our case studies and social media. We never publish your name, your full address or anything that identifies you without your permission. If you would rather we did not use photos of your property, just tell us.
You have the right to ask for a copy of your personal data, to have it corrected or deleted, to restrict or object to how we use it, to ask for it to be transferred to you or someone else, and to withdraw consent at any time. To use any of these rights, contact us using the details below. We will reply within one month.
If you are unhappy with how we handle your data, please tell us first so we can put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Portuguese data protection authority, the Comissão Nacional de Proteção de Dados (CNPD), or the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ICO).
