Window & glass cleaning

Glass here does not simply get dirty, it gets hard-water spotted. We clean it so it stays clear rather than just wet.

Home/Services/Window & glass cleaning

Between the sun, the salt in the air and some of the hardest water in Europe, glass in the Algarve takes a beating. Sprinklers throw mineral-heavy water at ground-floor panes every morning. Sea air leaves a film that dulls the whole elevation. Calcário dries on and bonds to the surface, and by the time most owners notice, giving it a wipe makes it look worse rather than better.

We clean glass on villas, apartments, holiday lets and commercial frontages right across the Golden Triangle. That means every pane we can safely reach on both faces, plus the frames, sills and tracks, and the glass balustrades and pool fencing that almost everyone else skips.

how we do it

Our process, step by step

  1. We survey before we quote

We come and look at the property first: how many panes, what the access is like, whether the spotting is surface film or bonded mineral, and whether there is an exterior tap and power. That is what lets us give you a fixed price instead of a guess that moves on the day.

  2. We protect before we clean

Furniture pulled back where it needs to be, sills and planting considered, and nothing left sitting in water. Your property should look after we leave like nobody was there apart from the glass being clear.

  3. The right approach for each pane

Reachable glass is cleaned by hand. Upper floors are reached from the ground where that is the safe option, so there is no ladder leaning against your render and no boots on your roof tiles.

  4. Frames, tracks and sills are part of the job

A spotless pane sitting in a dirty frame still reads as dirty from the terrace. Sliding door tracks in particular collect grit that ends up back on the glass, so we clear them out.

  5. Checked at an angle before we pack up

Glass is checked in raking light rather than straight on, because that is the only way to see what has been left behind. Anything missed gets done again before the van moves.

  6. We follow up afterwards

You hear from us after the job to check you are happy with it. If something is not right we would much rather you told us than left it.

what is included

What you get in the price

Being straight with you about hard water

Most hard-water spotting comes off. Some of it has been left on long enough that the minerals have etched into the surface of the glass itself, and no amount of cleaning brings that back because the damage is in the glass rather than on it.

If that is what we are looking at, we will tell you at the survey rather than take the job, hand you back the same pane and hope you do not look closely. Where it is treatable we will say so, and where a pane needs replacing that is a glazier's job, not ours.

how we keep the standard

Why the job comes back right

Signed off before we leave

Every job is checked against the standard for that surface before the van moves, by someone who did not do the cleaning. If it is not right we put it right before you have to ask.

Fixed quote from a real survey

We look at the property, then give you a price. What we agree at the survey is what you pay, with no extras invented once we are on site.

On time, and we follow up

A fixed arrival window rather than a vague all-day wait, and a call afterwards to check you are happy. Not a sales call.

where we work

questions

Window & glass cleaning, answered

How often should villa windows be cleaned in the Algarve?

It depends far more on the property than most people expect. An exposed villa with sprinklers hitting the glass needs it much more often than a sheltered apartment. Most owners here settle somewhere between every few weeks and a couple of times a year. We will give you an honest view at the survey rather than talk you into a frequency you do not need.

Do you clean the inside as well as the outside?

Yes, where you want it and where access allows. Just tell us at the survey so it is inside the fixed price rather than added afterwards.

Can you reach upper-floor windows without scaffolding?

On most properties here, yes, working from the ground. Where a window genuinely cannot be reached safely and properly, we will tell you that instead of improvising something we are not comfortable with.

Do you clean glass balustrades and pool fencing?

Yes, and we would encourage it. They are usually the dirtiest glass on the property because they catch splash, sun cream and irrigation, and they are the most frequently skipped.

What happens if it rains afterwards?

Clean glass does not spot from clean rain, so a shower will not undo the work. What causes spotting is mineral-heavy water from irrigation, which is a different problem and one we will talk to you about if it affects your property.
